1. General Statement

All manufacturing activity has some impact on the environment. It is the policy of Unibind Systems Ltd (USL) to make ourselves aware of the environmental consequences of our operations. As technologies develop and evolve, we will conduct our business in ways designed to reduce adverse environmental effects and maximise favourable ones.

2. Raw Materials

In selecting raw materials and designing products and packaging, USL will pursue policies aimed at making the most economical use of natural resources, encouraging the use of recycled materials or those from renewable sources. We will avoid where possible, the use of materials which are known to be detrimental to the environment, whether through their gathering, production or disposal.

USL will work closely with suppliers to carry out this policy and encourage the development of new materials with a more favourable environmental impact.

3. Processes

USL will work to understand the effects of their production operations on the environment and as far as current technologies allows, will adopt processes to minimise adverse environmental effects.

USL will pursue a strategy of continuous reduction in energy consumption by investment in energy-saving equipment, a high standard of plant maintenance and the universal adoption of energy-saving practices and attitudes

4. Waste

USL where possible will maximise the internal use of waste generated by our processes. We will cooperate with reputable and authorised waste disposal agencies to assist in the re-use of our waste by others and where this is not possible, to encourage its disposal by the method causing the least environmental harm.

USL will assist our customers and others who ultimately dispose of our products, by providing any information required for their safe disposal.
