Responding swiftly to 999 calls, air ambulances are able to deliver a medical crew to the scene of an accident or medical emergency and to transport patients to the nearest major hospital or specialist unit, in a fraction of the time taken by a land ambulance.

However, the challenge now is to meet the yearly running costs of approximately £1.7 million to provide Surrey and neighbouring Sussex with an emergency helicopter service, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Receiving no funding from the National Lottery the charity relies almost entirely upon the generosity of the public to support the Surrey Air Ambulance.

The feedback we have received has been overwhelmingly positive, reinforcing our view that creating an instructional guide to our systems and products was an extremely worthwhile venture.

Whilst it has encouraged new customers to order from us, and seen dormant customers re-order, the guide has also attracted a lot of new interest. Our website saw a huge surge in new, direct traffic, with nearly 1,500 tutorial page views in two days.

Much of the feedback we received confirmed our suspicions that many of our machine users weren't aware of their systems' full capabilities. For example, many people were grateful to learn exactly how to amend their document, whilst others were surprised to discover whole documents could be taken apart.

We are very pleased with the success of these videos and are soon to start work on additional tutorials, focusing first on a trouble shooting guide.

The film has been posted under the gallery section of our website and on our recent YouTube channel, and will shortly be placed on our homepage. The film will feature in full but has also been divided up into its separate chapters so the relevant section can be viewed quickly and easily.

The links to these chapters will also be included in emails in cases where account managers deem relevant sections may be helpful for their customer. Similarly, if a customer phones in with an issue, the account manager can discuss it with them in conjunction showing them the film, thus enabling the customer to fully understand how to use or solve the issue they are having with the machine.

Our thermal binding machines have no on/off switch but remain dormant until activated, and need  no warm-up time. Very little time or labour is required to use the machine, as the magnet switches off automatically once the heat plate has been through the binding cycle, allowing you to get on with other jobs.

Thermal binding is the most stylish and professional binding method, requiring no punch holes or staples. Thermal bound documents also lay-flat and are easy to package and store.
