1. Start by putting your document inside one of our cases for example SteelCrystal or SteelBook.
2. Tidy the document so it is centered inside the case and flat around all edges with no bits of uneven paper, also making sure the paper is touching the spine to sink into the resin during book binding process.
3. If your document doesn’t seem to fit check the below options.
4. Your document may have too few pages for the spine you are using and is very loose, leaving too much of the spine free. If this is the case you will need a smaller spine.
5. If your document has too many pages and won’t fit in the spine you will need a larger spine.
6. We have many spine sizes to choose from 1 – 340 pages just ask one of our team or look on our website.
7. Once the paper is inside the document pop it onto our heat plate; the magnet inside the Unibind machine will react to the metal in the spine; turning the machine on (as it has no on/off switch) and a red light will show to begin the thermal binding process.
8. After about a minute the light will turn green and you can now put the document onto the cooling plate for about a minute for the resin to set.
9. It is also possible to bind many documents at once for fast turnaround times on short deadlines, but this is dependent on your type of thermal binding machine and size spine you are using. You may need to upgrade your thermal binding machine if you find you have a higher workload.
10. It is also very easy to adjust you bound document just repeat the process by popping your document back on the binding machine. Once it is heated just remove the page/pages by sliding rather than pulling as this will leave resin on the document. Once this is page is out just insert the new page and rebind.
