Another advantage of our thermal binding technology is that the glue is already laid out in the spine and is therefore easy to amend; making it easy for you to adjust/remove pages without having to create new documents. Our thermal binding machines also allow you to bind multiple documents at once, making it easy to turn out your presentations for short deadlines.
Unibind thermal binders are unique as they are activated by a magnet in the binding spines. Once the document is inserted into the machine a red light will indicate that the binding process has begun and the resin in the spine will begin melting; this resin is extremely strong and durable, unlike glue it can be heated again to easy adjust pages without drying out. Once the cycle has finished a green light will appear. With cooling plates for you to rest your document on whilst the resin sets; the whole process takes minutes to do.
There are three
thermal Unibind machines currently available – the
XU138, which has one heat plate, the
XU238, which has two and the
XU338, which has three. Each plate is activated independently by a magnet when it comes into contact with a Unibind steel spine product. This means that if someone is using one plate, someone else can use the second or third plate. However, as each heat plate is 38mm wide, you are not restricted to only binding one book per heat plate, but can put a number of documents in the same compartment at the same time.
The Unibind Steelbinding ranges of products are very popular because:
- Secure with a strong, durable U-shaped steel spine
- Document is far easier to view than with other binding methods
- Highly customisable
